Student Biography

Aigerim Jumatayeva is currently in her 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at Pennsylvania State University. In May 2017, she will graduate with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in mechanical systems. Ms. Jumatayeva is a member student organizations including the Penn State Chapter of the Architectural Engineering Institute (Student Society of Architectural Engineers), and Student Society of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
 

In summer 2016, Aigerim participated in an internship program at Barton Associates, a nationally recognized MEP firm. During the internship, Aigerim was assisted and trained by Professional engineers in HVAC design, surveying, and commissioning. She was exposed to Plumbing, Electrical/Lighting and Mechanical design tasks. This experience helped Aigerim to learn new holistic approaches to both new construction and renovations. Her primary academic interests are energy load calculations and various energy simulation software.
 

Outside of school, Aigerim enjoys being involved in University activities. She spent 2 years as a PR Manager for KSA group at Penn State. Kazakhstani student association is a student organization with the primary goal of introducing Kazakh culture in the US. She is also a Duty Supervisor and Corporal of Records at Pennsylvania State University Auxiliary Police. As an Auxiliary Officer, she participates in nearly all campus events including Footballs, concerts, and all the other major events. Giving back to community is important for Aigerim. Thus she participates in humanitarian aid volunteering events organized by Embrace Relief or similar non-profit organizations. Aigerim enjoys activities including snowboarding, kayaking, reading, and playing chess.
